Reincarnation

REINCARNATION

By: Suzanne Weyn

SUMMARY

Reincarnation is a twisted love story - or rather it is many love stories. The book begins with a man and woman in early civilization fighting over a green stone. They fall off a cliff and die, but that is just the beginning of their love story.

The couple is reincarnated over and over again, always finding each other. Some of the locations include Egypt, Greece, Massachusetts, and Civil War battlefields. They have different names and different lifestyles throughout the book. Some things remain the same though. There is always something standing in the way of their love, there is always a green stone or gem, and there is always a jealous red-headed girl involved.

In the last story, the couple FINALLY gets together in New York city in the present time. They go to New York City Museum of Natural History where they are intrigued by the green stones and gems. These stones and gems are linked to the past lives of the couple, who are finally together.

REVIEW

The best word to describe this book would be CONFUSING. It is hard to keep track of the couple because their names and the setting are constantly changing. It was simply CONFUSING.

I did, however, enjoy the overall idea of the book. I had never read something like this before and it was a challenge to keep the characters straight with their past lives. I also enjoyed the stories themselves. Individually, they were very interesting and gave some history. My favorite story was the one set in Greece. It was the most emotional story because the couple could not be together and it was tragic.

The ending was okay. I was glad that they finally were able to be together, but it was predictable.
