VAMPIRE KISSES

VAMPIRE KISSES
By: Ellen Schreiber

SUMMARY

Sixteen-year old Raven Madison has liked the dark side since kindergarten. She even told her teacher that she wanted to become a vampire!

Raven is an outcast in her small town that she has nick-named Dullsville. Her parents used to be hippies and she calls her little brother Nerd-Boy. Raven is sixteen now, and is the only goth girl at school. She only has one friend, Becky, a farm girl.

Everything changes when the Sterling family moves into the town's abandoned mansion.

The Sterlings have a teen boy named Alexander. When it is rumored that the Sterlings are vampires, Raven wants to find out for herself. If Alexander is really a vampire, Raven fantasizes that he bites her and changes her into a vampire too.

In the end, Alexander disappears because Raven knows his secret....

REVIEW

Vampire Kisses is what I call a dark romance. It has the perfect combination of darkness (vampires) and romance (the outcast girl falls for the vampire boy). This book kept my attention and I am looking forward to reading Book 2. Since Alexander left so abruptly (which was sort of annoying) at the end, I want to find out what happens next.

I found the relationship between Raven and Becky to be a bit unbelievable. I don't really know that a goth girl and a farm girl would be friends in real life.

The vampire side of the story was what you would normally expect - nothing new or exciting. It was still a good story, there just wasn't anything really new as far as the vampires were concerned.
