The Magic Half

THE MAGIC HALF
BY: Annie Barrows

SUMMARY
Miri is the odd child between two sets of twins.  No one ever notices her.  But when she is sent back to 1935 and meets a girl named Molly, she may have found a match.  Now, Miri wants to bring Molly to her time.  One thing, she has a hard time getting back.  But when she does, it’s not with Molly.   When Miri suspects Molly is going to be murdered, it is a race against time to save her.  Will she save her friend, or will no one be there to save Molly?
REVIEW
This book was different from anything I have ever read before.  Miri was going back and forth between the present and the past.  While it was a little confusing, I really liked how what she did affected both the present and the past.  Another thing that I enjoyed was the foreshadowing.  For example, Miri looks through a special lens in the present that she had placed there in the past.  COOL!  The sets of twins were very close as were Miri and Molly.  I love it when siblings get along well.
This story was an attention-grabber for me.  I had no idea what was going to happen and I was surprised by the ending.  LOVE IT!
