Would you like a few more details? Of course you would. ;)
So a few weeks ago I received an email from Marissa over at Taste and Style Files, and in it she was raving about my current hometown of Austin, Texas. She doesn't live here currently, but wants to move to Austin in the near future and was planning to visit some family here a couple weeks from the date of our first correspondence. So we emailed back and forth a bit, and then we decided to meet up once she got here!
Of course, to be on the safe side (in case one of us was really a pervert MAN orchestrating an entire existence on the Internet for the sole purpose of meeting and molesting attractive young females), we met in a public place, and I was sure to carry my Mace gun with me. Just kidding!!! Or am I? ;)
And it turns out that both of us were exactly who we said we were, and as soon as we were actually in each other's non-virtual presence we got along just PERFECTLY! Marissa couldn't have been cooler, classier, or more beautiful, and we spent about three hours talking, eating, and shopping together. What a FUN experience!!! Marissa, thanks again for meeting me! I'm so glad both of our first Blogger meetup experiences went SO well!
Do you need proof, sweet friends? Because I can provide that. Naturally, Marissa and I both took lots of pictures (for our blogs), and I might add that it was SO refreshing to meet someone who doesn't think I'm a weirdo because I snap photographs for the sole purpose of displaying them to hundreds of "strangers" on the Internet. Because actually? I don't feel that any of you are strangers. You are all very much my friends, and after Thursday's experience, I've learned that if you get along well with someone in the Blog World, chances are very good that you'll be buddies in REAL life too. :)
Here's a few photos from the day!
We weren't sharing a plate, I promise! It just kind of looks that way in this picture... ;) |
HAD to pose in front of the cute scarves! |
HOW ADORABLE IS SHE?! (This was at Anthropologie, can you tell?) |
Beautiful Christmas ornaments |
So friends, if you ever get the chance to meet a blog buddy, I highly recommend that you do! Be smart about it (meet in a public place), but DO take the opportunity if you can. I tend to have trouble making girlfriends in REAL life for a variety of reasons, but blogging has been a wonderful way to get to know like minded females and create bonds that I KNOW will be everlasting.
And go check out Marissa!!! She's relatively new to the Bloggy World and is in the process of revamping her site, so go make friends with her NOW before she hits it big time! You'll be glad you did! :) (And watch for HER post about our meetup, too! Coming soon!)
Now go and have a lovely weekend, girls and (a few) boys!
J
