Goodreads Summary

After Sam is fused with her cell phone, she's ready to conquer the world! Or at least the 8th grade...

When Samantha Granger touches a meteor while talking on her cell phone, her life is changed forever: her body now has all the capabilities of her phone (GPS, phone, text, camera). She secretly calls herself a "Digital Diva" as she rushes to answer emergency calls. But will her identity be discovered when sparks fly (literally!) between her and Trevor, her dreamy crush? Samantha has to get a handle on her abilities and quick, because when Sam gets kidnapped and the entire town is in danger, she is the only one who can save them.

Review

Samantha is in for some seriously funny antics when she gets fused with her cell phone. She goes from being a typical teen to being a Digital Diva, complete with superhero abilities.

Fused has a fun and engaging plot. Sam is a likable and entertaining heroine. She had just the right amount of confusion about her situation and enthusiasm for her new abilities. Sam is someone I could identify with in a good way.

Some of the scenes where Sam’s powers come into play are very funny. My favorite was when Sam first realized that part of her hand was clear and her veins spelled out the caller ID of incoming calls. Her reaction was exactly like I would have imagined.

One of the best things about Fused is that it can appeal to both girls and guys. Girls will like the strong female lead character while guys will like the cell phone technology. I just loved how it all worked so well together – girlie and nerdy rocking it together!

Cute, colorful, and girlie! If you know me at all, you know I can’t get enough pink and purple. I could do without the definition of fused at the bottom, but otherwise, I think it’s a perfect middle grade cover.
