GOODREADS SUMMARY
This fetchingly illustrated hardcover is the middle-grade adaptation of Vicki Myron's word-of-mouth sensation, Dewey the Library Cat, which bounded to the top of the Barnes & Noble bestseller list and those of others, coast-to-coast. In addition to its winning story of an orphan cat who found a home at the local public library, this book features an eight-page photo insert that spotlights America's most famous literate feline.
REVIEW
This feel-good middle grade book tells the sweet story of a cat named Dewey. Now, I’m not exactly what you would call a cat person, but I couldn’t resist reading Dewey’s tale. Who can turn their back on that a-Dew-able cat face?
Dewey was discovered by Vicki Myron, in her small town’s library drop box one cold morning. Vicki tells how she instantly fell in love with Dewey as she brought him to safety in the library. From there, Dewey went on to become a local attraction and eventually became known all over America. This cat made people smile.
I enjoyed reading about Dewey’s antics and how much the library patrons came to love him. Nothing fancy – just a sweet and innocent story. I think this would be a fabulous book for a fourth or fifth grade teacher to read aloud to their class.
Be prepared for some bittersweet moments and even a surprise ending. I really liked the color photos of Dewey hanging out at the library. Dewey is one cool cat!

COVER COMMENTS
Did you know that is an actual picture of Dewey? He looks so trusting to me. Those big eyes just stand out. The red font compliments his tawny fur color as well.
