GOODREADS SUMMARY
Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion . . . she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit -- more sparkly, more fun, more wild -- the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.
When Cricket -- a gifted inventor -- steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.
REVIEW
Lola is CrAzY! She loves to wear wigs and costumes and random outfits. To give you an idea, one time she dressed like a picnic! Lola’s bold fashion choices mirror her personality. She is loud and proud and I imagine she would be a blast to hang out with. Cricket is Lola’s opposite. He is a shy and nerdy inventor who avoids the spotlight. Despite his unusual name, Cricket blends in with the crowd.
For Lola and Cricket, opposites attract.
Lola and Cricket shine brightly as a couple. There is nothing superficial here. They are just made for each other because they have opposite strengths and weaknesses. Cricket keeps Lola grounded. Lola gives Cricket the attention he desperately needs. She even asks him to design the structure for a Marie Antoinette dress. I adored the fact that Lola and Cricket have known each other since they were little and they had some time apart. It's as though they finally realized they had the perfect person all along. Can I hear it for Team Cricket?
There is a cool surprise when Anna and St. Clair from Anna and the French Kiss show up. I always get chill bumps when this happens in companion novels. I’m like “hey, I know you!” It’s like those awesome times when you run into an old friend when you least expect it.
Stephanie Perkins captures the spirit of young adult romance with plenty of flair. Reading her novels is like talking with your best friend. I am so looking forward to Isla and the Happily Ever After.

COVER COMMENTS
Purple hair! Lola really is out of this world! Cricket looks just as cute as I pictured. It’s cool that they are sitting in a window seat with a San Francisco neighborhood in the background. I love this cover!
