SUMMARY

Meghan Chase lives in a small town and has never really fit in.  On her sixteenth birthday, her brother Ethan is kidnapped.  Meghan sets out with her friend Robbie (aka Puck) to rescue Ethan.

Meghan’s journey takes her and Puck to Faery, a magical land where anything is possible.  While there, she learns that she is the daughter of the Summer Faery ruler.  She also meets Ash, the son of the Winter Faery ruler.  The final member of the rescue party is a cat named Grimalkin.  This unusual group is in for quite a few surprises.

Adding to the suspense is a love triangle between Meghan, Puck, and Ash.  The two boys have a history between them and want to fight to the death.  Meghan eventually makes a choice, but I won’t spoil the surprise! I will say, however, that I am a proud member of TEAM PUCK!

REVIEW

Faery worlds and love triangles make for a suspenseful story.  Add a kidnapped brother and you have a THRILLER on your hands.

One thing that really stood out in this book was the details.  The author put a great deal of emphasis on explaining the setting and the relationships between the characters.  The relationship that I enjoyed the most was the one between Meghan and Ethan.  They were very close and she wanted to save him.  It was nice to read a story of a sister who would risk her life to save her brother’s life.

I chose to join Team Puck because he was there for Meghan all along.  Ash came across as being very cold.  Besides, Puck reminded me of my little brother, Travis, because he can be a little mischievous.
