Book Blogger Convention

DIFFERENT

Being different is good.  It would be boring to just blend into the crowd.  No one wants to be the same as everyone else.  Being different is GOOD.

These are things my mother says to me whenever I am feeling down for being different.  You see, I am the youngest and shortest of the 125 kids in fifth grade at my school.  There are even kids in my brother’s second grade class who are taller than I am.  I stand out.

I am finding that I am a bit different in the book blogging world too.  Being a pre-teen blogger in a sea of teens and adults is a little unusual.  While I enjoy reading YA books, I can’t read them all because some are not appropriate for my age.  I also still enjoy reading middle grade books.  They are simply fun to read and I can’t pass them up when I see them!  Some of the library books I review are not new releases.  They have been around for years.  The books I review are not the same as everyone else’s.

My actual book reviews are different too.  I have a girlie-meter and I write like a ten-year-old.  There’s no use trying to hide it.  My reviews don’t blend in.

I love to visit blogs and see something DIFFERENT.  There are some really cool bloggers out there who aren’t afraid to try something new.  Those are some of my favorite blogs to visit.  It might be a vlog, a different kind of giveaway, a fun blog name, humor, an eye-catching background, and most important of all – unique and honest book reviews.  They stand out.

I hope you will join me in being different.  Show some personality!  Don’t be shy.  After all, being different is GOOD.
