It's a SAFARI at MY house! (Show Us Where You Live Friday)
I'm a little grumbly about Kelly's choice of room this week, but I'm posting nonetheless!
The office at our home may be the one and only room without so much as a fingerprint of mine on just about anything. When my husband and I were married and moved to Austin this past February, more than one "discussion" took place about where all of the "animals" would go. Let's just say Matthew is big time into hunting and I'm - well - not. Nor do animal heads and skins necessarily fit into my style of decor. So yes, there were "discussions." And what we agreed on was a few heads in the living room (ok, four) and then as many as Matthew could reasonably fit into his office. Hence, the Safari Room.
Your eyes do not deceive you. That is a real, entire zebra on the wall. Most people have faux zebra print pillows and rugs, we have an actual zebra pelt flattened and nailed across an entire wall. So sad. Poor buddy.
You may also notice that, in the bottom right hand corner of the photo, there is a strange... thing. That is an elephant foot, dear readers. An elephant foot storage container. It has disgusting yellow nails and is the most revolting thing I think I've ever seen in my life. Not cool.
There are also a few more mounts on walls you can't see in this picture. My point is, I feel about eight judging eyes on me whenever I step foot in this room, so I just don't.
MY "office" is tucked away in a hallway upstairs, but I don't actually use it much, nor is it anywhere near what I want it to be.
I'm still deciding how to best organize and decorate this space, but it's not much of a priority because I do most of my "work" sitting on the couch with my laptop in the living room. So maybe we'll revisit my little office space another day!
If you're interested, check out our dining room and kitchen too (just trying to redeem myself here)! ;) Thanks so much for stopping by!!!
