from goodreads
The Summer King is missing; the Dark Court is bleeding; and a stranger walks the streets of Huntsdale, his presence signifying the deaths of powerful fey.
Aislinn tends to the Summer Court, searching for her absent king and yearning for Seth. Torn between his new queen and his old love, Keenan works from afar to strengthen his court against the coming war. Donia longs for fiery passion even as she coolly readies the Winter Court for battle. And Seth, sworn brother of the Dark King and heir to the High Queen, is about to make a mistake that could cost his life.
Love, despair, and betrayal ignite the Faery Courts, and in the final conflict, some will win . . . and some will lose everything.
REVIEW
There is a lot (and I do mean A LOT) going on in Darkest Mercy. All the characters from the previous books are brought together to share their points of view this time around. There are even some new characters added to the mix. The action takes place in all the Faery Courts, making for some stunning scenes. If it weren’t for Melissa Marr’s writing magic, this would be a big confusing mess – but fear not, she has made magic once again.
This book, hey this whole series, is about relationships between characters. I especially liked the relationship between Ash, Seth, and Keenan. They have been hi-lighted throughout the series, and I felt very connected. There are characters that I loved and characters that I didn’t care for at all. Melissa Marr would add twists that made me change sides too. Oh Yes She Did! I honestly think there is a character in here for every reader to root for and against.
Ah, the ending. It was everything I hoped, and nothing I expected. Does that even make sense? Trust me, it will. I am seriously going to miss everything about this series. I guess I will have to read them over and over and over again. Now, there’s a good idea.
Darkest Mercy releases on February 22, 2011. Building the buzz now so you can preorder a copy. You won’t want to miss it. Thank you to Melissa Marr for sending this book for review.
