Goodreads Summary
Three angels- Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, the youngest and most human- are sent by Heaven to bring good to a world falling under the influence of darkness. They must work hard to conceal their luminous glow, superhuman powers, and, most dangerous of all, their wings, all the while avoiding all human attachments.
Then Bethany meets Xavier Woods, and neither of them is able to resist the attraction between them. Gabriel and Ivy do everything in their power to intervene, but the bond between Xavier and Bethany seems too strong.
The angel’s mission is urgent, and dark forces are threatening. Will love ruin Bethany or save her?
Review
The concept of this book caught my attention. I liked the idea of a trio of angels returning to Earth to make it a better place. Yeah, I know, it’s a little goody-goody, but sometimes that’s how I roll.
I also liked that Bethany had been an angel for some time and was not just learning about her angel-abilities. This was a change from some of the other books I have read. Usually, it seems that the main female character is new to her powers and is rather naïve about things.
However, I had some problems with Halo as well.
Since I was looking forward to reading about Bethany’s mission to help the world, I was disappointed when the story became more of a romance between Bethany and Xavier. I don’t like an angel who gives up on her important mission because of a romance. I mean, really, if you can’t count on an angel, who can you count on?
A little teen-talk goes a long way and Halo took it too far. Even for this tween, it was too much and I think it distracted from the story.

Beautiful. The sun, the shadows, the angel wings. Just beautiful.
