Ghosts will abound

In a land full of marvel"

everyone is in for the surprise of their life. Her backyard is gone. In its place greenery filled with tall trees, a variety of bushes, and...DINOSAURS?

REVIEW

Time travel books are usually fun to read. I like to learn about other times in history and see how the characters react. So, The Halloween Dino Trip sounded like a good read. Kids going from a Halloween party in the present to the time of dinosaurs can’t be bad, right?

As I expected, I liked reading about the actual time travel. I really enjoyed the idea of a spell book making this all possible. The problem came in when the kids actually arrived in dinosaur times. Very quickly, they moved from dinosaur times to the dinosaurs dead to the ice age and then back home.

I wanted more dinosaurs and I felt let down.

I had the same sort of problem with the main character, Jillian. We really only got to see her at her party and then so quickly going on her adventure. I didn’t feel like she had a big defining moment or that I really got to know her very deeply.

Sorry, but this one was just not for me.

RATING

2 Not For Me

COVER COMMENTS

This is a cute middle grade cover. Jillian looks like a typical tween and the pumpkin is a nice touch. Cute!
