GOODREADS SUMMARY

Have you ever wondered what secrets lurk behind the closed doors of New York City's wealthiest families? They're powerful, they're famous... they're undead.

Schuyler Van Alen's blood legacy has just been called into question--is the young vampire in fact a Blue Blood, or is it the sinister Silver Blood that runs through her veins? As controversy swirls, Schuyler is left stranded in the Force household, trapped under the same roof as her cunning nemesis, Mimi Force, and her forbidden crush, Jack Force.

When one of the Gates of Hell is breached by Silver Bloods in Rio de Janeiro, however, the Blue Bloods will need Schuyler on their side. The stakes are high; the battle is bloody; and through it all, Carnavale rages on. And in the end, one vampire's secret identity will be exposed in a revelation that shocks everyone.

REVIEW

Just when I was getting anxious for some action, Revelations swoops in and delivers. The first two books set the stage and provided the background. It’s all leads up to Revelations, where questions are answered and secrets are revealed.

The Blue Bloods grow suspicious of half-blood Schuyler and they accuse her of being a Silver Blood. The Blue Bloods are so full of themselves and they just can’t handle having a half-blood among their group. I’m not really surprised that they turned on Schuyler.

The secret that is ultimately exposed came as a complete shock to me. Melissa de la Cruz has mad writing skills and she worked this surprise expertly into the plot. I can’t wait to see where this revelation leads the plot.

As before, the story is told from three points of view – Schuyler, Mimi, and Bliss. I don’t know that I have ever read another series that was told from the points of view of three girls. It’s unique and I like it. Each girl has her own evolving style. Schuyler grows more confident, Mimi isn’t completely self centered after all, and Bliss isn’t the innocent Texan from book one anymore.

COVER COMMENTS

The tattoo is a huge part of the story. I am glad it’s prominently on the cover. There’s the skyline again!
