GOODREADS SUMMARY

Evie finally has the normal life she’s always longed for. But she’s shocked to discover that being ordinary can be . . . kind of boring. Just when Evie starts to long for her days at the International Paranormal Containment Agency, she’s given a chance to work for them again. Desperate for a break from all the normalcy, she agrees.

But as one disastrous mission leads to another, Evie starts to wonder if she made the right choice. And when Evie’s faerie ex-boyfriend Reth appears with devastating revelations about her past, she discovers that there’s a battle brewing between the faerie courts that could throw the whole supernatural world into chaos. The prize in question? Evie herself.

So much for normal.

REVIEW

After reading Paranormalcy, I was all “bring on the Supernaturally!” I had fallen in love with the characters, the story, and Kiersten White’s fun and quirky writing style. I was ready!

Remember Evie and her fabulous personality? She’s still fun and flirty, but also more grown up and serious at times. I liked her transformation. What I did not like was the lying. Lying to Lend, IPCA, her friends, everyone in her life. I won’t get spoilery here, but I just wish she had come clean with the truth. I know for a fact that her friends would have been supportive and helpful had she let them help her.

Ah, the boys. I was way impressed by everything about the boys. Sweet Lend was kind, loving, and supportive of Evie in more ways than I could count. He was perfect boyfriend material and I fell for him all over again. Now, let me introduce you to Jack. He was the excitable new employee at IPCA, who literally bounced off the walls with his energy. Jack had a habit of showing up at the worst possible moment and generally making a fool of himself. Kiersten White’s humor shined through every scene with Jack.

There was a lot going on in Supernaturally, with side stories and the merging of Evie’s normal and paranormal worlds. There is an interesting melding between Evie’s high school life and a hidden life among paranormal creatures. I was surprised, in a good way, by the direction the plot took right up to the shocking ending.

COVER COMMENTS

What I really love about this cover is how it is a beautiful compliment to the Paranormalcy cover. They are so pretty next to each other. Evie is so pretty and she looks stunning with the maroon background and dress.
