GOODREADS SUMMARY
Grace just moved to San Francisco and is excited to start over at a new school. The change is full of fresh possibilities, but it’s also a tiny bit scary. It gets scarier when a minotaur walks in the door. And even more shocking when a girl who looks just like her shows up to fight the monster.
Gretchen is tired of monsters pulling her out into the wee hours, especially on a school night, but what can she do? Sending the minotaur back to his bleak home is just another notch on her combat belt. She never expected to run into this girl who could be her double, though.
Greer has her life pretty well put together, thank you very much. But that all tilts sideways when two girls who look eerily like her appear on her doorstep and claim they're triplets, supernatural descendants of some hideous creature from Greek myth, destined to spend their lives hunting monsters.
These three teenage descendants of Medusa, the once-beautiful gorgon maligned by myth, must reunite and embrace their fates in this unique paranormal world where monsters lurk in plain sight.
REVIEW
Medusa’s legacy takes on a whole new spin in Sweet Venom. Medusa has triplet descendants in the form of three high school girls in San Francisco. In this first book of the Medusa Girls series, the girls are just meeting each other and coming to grips with their situation.
Can you imagine being a teen girl and going about your normal life only to find out you are a triplet? Oh, and get this, you are a descendant of Medusa and you have special powers. I would be FREAKING OUT and that is exactly how these girls react. Come on, it’s Medusa we’re talking about here!
Aside from the Medusa aspect and sharing the power of persuasion, these girls have nothing in common. Grace is the nerdy girl next door who has the power of autoporting and can move from one location to another in an instant. She is the peacekeeper. Nerdy me could relate quite well with Grace. Gretchen was already aware of her super strength power, and she becomes the leader of the group. Greer is the rich, fashion obsessed girl with the power of second sight that lets her know what will happen before it happens. Greer is the most flipped out by what is going on.
Sweet Venom introduces the girls to the reader and to each other through alternating perspectives. Tera Lynn Childs does a masterful job of presenting each girl as an individual. The ending is a heart stopper and left me wanting more Medusa Girls.

COVER COMMENTS
I am loving this unique cover. Her pony tail resembles one of the snakes in Medusa’s hair. The curly design behind the title matches the curls in her hair. Well done!
