One night y’all. I read Fury in one night!

Fury is captivating in every way imaginable. EVERYTHING about this book pulled me in and would not let go. It wasn’t easy to read either, there is some seriously BAAAAD stuff going on in Fury, but I could not let go. No, make that, I COULDN’T leave.

These characters are flawed. They do some really bad things to each other. At first, they relish in the glory of their conquests. I felt nothing but disdain for them. Then, even worse things happen and the furies show up. The furies cause mischief for those who have done wrong. Well, there is plenty of wrong going on here, so the furies are busy. What’s epic about all this is that Elizabeth Miles doesn’t come right out and say who the furies are. It’s subtle. It’s there. It’s CREEPY.

Oh. My Gosh. the setting has got to be the most CHILLING ever. It is the dead of winter and Christmas break. Snow, freezing temperatures, ice! I loved that the frozen setting was brought up so often and in so many ways. The characters can see their breath, they feel frozen in time as if their actions do not have consequences, they shiver, they look for warmth. BAM!!! That’s it. They NEED those red hot furies!

Would you be mad if I told you I had to skip through a few scenes? They were too mature for me, but I totally get why there were in there. These teens were up to some pretty intense thiiiiings and these 12-year-old eyes were too young for them. However, these scenes NEEDED to be included to really make the characters and their creepiness real. Just knowing they were there helped me get into the story more.

I loved the ending! I felt like it was all justified. You get what you deserve. So there!

If you haven’t read Fury yet, pick it up for some snowy holiday reading. It’s not an easy book to read, but it is chilling, creeping, and perfectly captivating.
