GUEST POST
MY OWN WORST FRENEMY
THIS OR THAT – CHANTI
This or That posts are always fun, but even better when they are with a character from a book. I am so lucky, because I got to ask Chanti from My Own Worst Frenemy a series of This or That questions. Chanti has to prove her innocence at Langdon Prep, when she is accused of stealing. Let’s get right to it!
Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys
Nancy Drew: I like the Hardy Boys, too, but I’m all about girl power.
Plaid or Stripes
Stripes: I have to wear plaid at Langdon Prep. I’m not even through my first semester and I’m already over plaid. Sooo over it.
Bad Boys or Good Guys
Good Guys: I admit Bad Boys sound like more fun, but I’d probably stress out too much to enjoy one. I’d always be worried he might get us into trouble. Probably because I grew up around cops—my mom is one. Besides, I get into enough trouble on my own.
Silver or Gold
Silver
Cop Shows or Reality TV
Cop Shows: I could probably keep a 4.0 GPA if I could cure my cop show addiction.
Hot or Cold
Cold: I don’t like getting sweaty, and when it’s cold you can always put more clothes on. It’s a good thing I live in Denver where it’s only hot two months out of the year.
Vest or Sweater
Sweater: Equally cute with jeans and boots or a pencil skirt and heels.
Boyfriend or Crush
Boyfriend: It’s tough to choose because a crush is all about the build-up – what you imagine things will be like if you ever get together—very exciting. A boyfriend is the real deal, flaws and all, but you always know where you stand, you know you have a date for Friday night, and you can count on a kiss at the end of the date. I’ve been crushing on one boy or the other since sixth grade, but not a single real boyfriend. I’m still not sure if Marco qualifies as that, but I’m ready to change my status and his.
Math or Reading
Reading! I do well in math, but it’s school work. A good book is like going on vacation. My friends think I’m lame because I love me some books, but I’m not stressing over taking the SATs like they are. I’ll be all over that vocabulary section.
Dorm or Apartment
Apartment: I don’t think I could do the whole communal living thing, people going in and out of dorm rooms and the drama of everyone on the floor knowing your business. My grades are good and I hope having Langdon Prep on my college apps will land me a full scholarship somewhere. Believe me, I wouldn’t be at Langdon unless I knew it might help me get into a good school (okay, also because Marco’s there). Without a scholarship, I’ll be a very broke college student, so I’ll probably have roommates – and people in my business – but at least it’ll be limited to one or two people.
Huge thanks to The Teen {Book} Scene for arranging this fun guest post.
