Pretties

PRETTIES
By:  Scott Westerfeld

SUMMARY
Since Tally turned prettie, everything has been a big happy blur.  But when Tally’s old Smokie friend shows up with directions to something important, Tally has to find out what it is.  When it turns out to be pills to change her prettie mind, she splits the pills with her new boyfriend Zane.
Now that Tally’s mind is sharp, it’s time to leave.  Even with Zane’s head-splitting headaches, they make it to new Smoke.  There tally learns the secrets of Zane’s headaches.  Surprise, Tally is captured and returned to the city.  What awaits her there, you’ll have to find out.

REVIEW
This was a thrilling sequel to the book Uglies.  Lots of nicely placed action though out the book.  Nothing is ever easy for Tally Youngblood, which I find enjoyable.  It also had foreshadowing in it, a good touch.  It was fun to look at Pretties again after finishing it.
One thing I didn’t like was the near consent fighting between Tally and Shay.  Also sometimes the story was hard to follow.  I had to figure it out myself.  The ending was kind of sudden.  I would have liked a little more warning to what was going to happen.
