Our Favorite Hawaiian Flowers

Blogging about Hawaii comes easy as it's basically sharing all the things we love in Hawaii with Hawaii visitors, especially those, who plan their first trip to the Hawaiian Islands.

We consider our Hawaii Blog the 'appetizer' - awakening the taste buds and nourishing the urge for more - before the big 'entree', the real visit to Hawaii when indulging in white sand beaches, warm waters of the Pacific Ocean and the unique beauty of the Hawaiian tropical fauna and flora.

Today we want to share with all our blog visitors our favorite Hawaiian flowers. Tropical Hawaiian flowers will catch any Hawaii visitor's attention all over the islands again and again. First time when receiving a beautiful flower lei upon arrival at one of our Hawaii Airports or at your hotel check-in.

Hawaii Resorts, like the Hilton Waikoloa Village we talked about in our recent post, and Hawaii vacation rentals alike are proud of displaying as many of our colorful tropical Hawaiian flowers in your rooms and outside.

Well, what are our favorite Hawaiian flowers? With the abundance of different choices of colors, scents, shapes and texture - Hibiscus, Plumeria, Gardenia, Pikake, Tuberose, Orchids - choosing a specific flower over another does not come easy.

My favorite Hawaiian flower is the Plumeria, which comes in all beautiful colors, the scent is subtle with a single flower but becomes captivating in the typical Hawaiian Plumeria lei. Don't keep your Plumeria flower lei in the fridge for too long. The flower blossoms become brown spots the next day.

Welcome back to more recommendations from us about how you can have your Best Hawaii Vacation like Donald Trump but cheap. Today, we would like to share with you our Favorite Hawaiian T-shirts and where you can buy those. We wrote a few blog articles about shopping in Hawaii like Best Shopping on the Big Island and Shopping in Hawaii and mentioned Hawaiian T-shirts in those.

As you know from own experience, a Hawaii vacation is about beaches, maybe Maui Beaches, and shopping. Hawaii tempts its visitors with an overwhelming number of shops and stores at the hotels and shopping centers. Before leaving Hawaii for the Mainland, you'd better look for a nice Hawaiian gift, something from the islands, affordable and practicable and fun. This is how we've found our favorite Hawaiian T-shirts. When I prepared this post about Hawaiian T-shirts, I was totally surprised that our favorite T-shirts did not even come up in the top of Google search.

OK, guys, before I continue, just one thing you should know. We are not associated with the company and also don't get paid for this post. It's just that we love 'Crazy Shirts', which is the name of our favorite Hawaiian T-shirts. They are different and unique and just not like any other Hawaiian T-shirt.

We buy them for ourselves and for aloha gifts from the islands. We've learned in the past that buying aloha shirts for Mainland people is not everybody's cup of tea. Mostly, people feel Aloha shirts are for the islands. It's different with Hawaiian T-shirts. People love to wear them on the Mainland as well.

OK what is so unique about Crazy Shirts from Hawaii? Not only that there are countless Hawaii related designs: surfing, waves, whales, Hawaiian flowers, geckos, leis and more. What makes Hawaii crazy shirts so special to us, are the different dyes being used. Would you believe that you can buy Hawaii T-shirts dyed with money, volcanic ask, Kona coffeee, wine, hemp, chocolate and more. I loved my cocolate dyed T-shirts. The sweet, pleasant smell stayed with my T-shirt for a long time, despite many washes.

Where can you buy Crazy shirt in Hawaii? Oahu alone has 9 Crazy Shirt shop locations, Maui 6, Kauai 4 and the Big Island 3. We buy our favorite Hawaiian T-shirts at the Crazy Shirt store at the King's Shop at Waikoloa Beach Resort on the Big Island. You will get a little card for keeping track of the number of your purchases. When you a return visitors to Hawaii, I tell you it goes fast to make it to 12 shirts and get one free.

Also always check the online store for specials. This is how I buy the latest Hawaii Ironman Triathlon T-shirts. Check shortly or a few weeks after the Big Island Ironman for a great price on an Ironman T-shirt.

Hawaiian Flower Leis Symbol of Love from Hawaii

After our recent post about '5 Best Things to do on Big Island vacation', it's time for the Monday 'Hawaii Photo of the Week'. What is our photo blog post about today? How about a beautiful Hawaiian girl with an orchid flower lay!

The Hawaii flower lei is part of an ancient Hawaii tradition. Most of the Hawaii leis are made from beautiful Hawaiian flowers like the sweet smelling Plumeria - one of the most popular leis in Hawaii - Tuberose, delicate Pikake (jasmine) blossoms, orchids - like the ones in our today's photo - white ginger, little rose buds or colorful carnations. Naturally, we women love the looks and intoxicating scent of those flowers. Men choose the traditional Hawaiian lei made from glossy Maile leaves, which usually drapes around the neck. See our wedding photo. These days, you don't need to have friends in Hawaii for being greeted with a beautiful flower lei at your Hawaii airport destination. To be honest it's an art and most of the women have learned to make leis from their mothers or grandmothers. Let's hope that their will always be Hawaiian people who stay in touch with their Hawaiian heritage and know how to make leis, not just flower leis!

When we started our Best Hawaii Vacation Blog July last year, we originally had no photos with our Hawaii vacation posts. Oops, that did not work well. We liked his Hawaiian girls calendars a lot and so the idea was born to promote his site by publishing WahineStyle girls as post girls on our Best Hawaii Vacation Blog.

Well, coincidence or not but all the posts with the Wahine Hawaiian girls as post girls are doing great and show up in Google's search engine results.
