Today, the 23rd of November 2010, marks the six month anniversary of this blog. So I figured some happy self indulgence would be good. Actually, that’s not true at all. What I really wanted to do was extend a thank you to everyone out there who takes the time to read what I post. From thoughts on photography, to discourse on walks, from my reasoning for travelling and even on a trip to Hitler’s bunker, it’s all been here, and it’s all been read by you.
I really appreciate that you’ve come along on the journey with me so far. The comments you leave, the Facebook likes, the re-tweets, even the clicking on the adverts. It all makes it worth it. Hopefully the content will stay up to par and you’ll hang around for the rest of the trip, wherever that goes. In the meantime, here are some thoughts for you:
- In six months I’ve written 140 articles, roughly one every 1.2 days. This doesn’t count the few guest posts I’ve done on other blogs.
- Articles range from around 300 to 2000 words, depending on how much subject matter /time I have. The record is currently held by the guest post that Amanda from A Dangerous Business did for me, detailing things to do in New Zealand. I’m still working through her list.
- The most popular article in the last six months is all about English food, with the article on Hitler’s Bunker sneaking up the rankings over the last few weeks.
- Site visitors have come from 69 countries around the world, with the majority coming from the UK, followed by the US, Germany, Australia and Canada.
So where next you ask? Well, I still have about eleven or so months left in New Zealand, although weddings back in the UK may cause me to pop back a mite early. I’ll keep telling you about New Zealand, obviously. And I’ll keep on going about photography, and posting my images. Of course, if there’s anything you’d like me to talk about, subjects you feel I should cover more in depth, or just general questions about life on the road, just drop me a line, either in the comments, via e-mail, on the Facebook page… whatever works for you.
Don’t forget you can also follow me on twitter, follow the site via RSS (where you can also sign up to have articles delivered by e-mail) and join in the conversation on the Facebook page, where additional photos are put up for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy the rest of the journey!
