Am I seriously still talking about this vacation?
Even I’M getting a little tired of hearing about it. But alas, one day I will enjoy looking back on all of these posts, and I’ll turn to Matthew on the creaky old rocking chair beside me and say, “remember this, honey? Back when we were young little whippersnappers romping around South America? Back when we had our teeth and our continence and our sanity?”
But Matthew probably won’t remember. Cause he’s six years older, so when I’m old, he’ll be reeeally old.
Anyway.
The following photos are from our second day in Peru, after we arrived in Cusco. It was beautiful there. See for yourself.
Another stray. This is a widespread problem in South America… dogs are EVERYWHERE, and someone in our group even got attacked by a small pack of them when he was out jogging one morning!
This trio expected a tip after I took their photo. Even the goat looked pissed when I told them I didn’t have any money.
We drove an hour through the Andes to this beautiful old home for lunch. It was nestled away in the hills and accessed only by a narrow dirt road… a hidden gem most tourists might not find.
The gardens in the backyard were breathtaking, and local artisans were set up and ready to sell us their fabulous handmade goods…
It was misting, and I managed to catch this beautiful rainbow…
We stopped at a wonderful little marketplace with photo ops galore…
Next will come photos from our last stop of the journey, the magnificent Machu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the world and the one experience that made all the craziness and stress of this trip worthwhile.
Have a wonderful day, my friends!
