I vaaaguely remember saying that I was going to try and do at least one outfit post a week… that was what, three months ago now? And I've done, like, two outfit posts since then?
Oopsie!
I’m such a promise-breaker.
Anyway, I have one for you today. And I hope they’ll come more often, now. You see, summer is in full swing here in the great state of Texas, to the tune of temperatures in the high 90’s and 100’s already. What that ALSO means is we wear as little clothing as we can get away with, which means less complicated outfits, which means less thinking on my part, which means more outfit posts! Yay!
I’ve been buying more colorful pieces, lately. I feel that wearing bright colors improves your mood and brings you confidence, as well as makes you stand out from the crowd… in a good way! Also? Fact: brightly colored clothing photographs better! Wearing something bold in your pictures makes the difference between a picture being GOOD and picture being GREAT!
So, enough chit-chat for now. Here’s what I wore yesterday!
{ Dress: Langford Market on West 2nd Street (a wonderful, reasonably priced boutique, Austinites!), Bag: The Limited, Sandals: Ann Taylor, Jewelry: Forever21 (including hair clip in first pic) }
I would also like to point out that this ensemble cost well under $100! I think the key to finding super cute outfits that are also inexpensive (besides buying things on sale, like that Limited bag) is choosing pieces that are already interesting and don’t require that you add tons of accessories to make them look fashionable. For example, the little blue dress was only 40 bucks, and it is “already interesting” thanks to the little button detail and the black belt that came around the waste!
I love simplicity. Mainly cause I’m lazy, and not really THAT great at putting outfits together.
HUZZAH! Happy Thursday!
