GOODREADS SUMMARY

Perry Stormaire is a normal high school senior– he is busy applying to college and rehearsing with his band –until he agrees to go to the prom with the Lithuanian exchange student who is staying with his family. It turns out that Gobi Zaksauskas is not the mousy teenager that she seems but rather an attractive, confident trained assassin. Instead of going to the prom, Perry finds himself on a wild ride through the streets of New York City as Gobi commandeers the Jaguar his father lent him for the prom in order to take out her targets. Perry learns a lot about himself – and ends up with some amazing material for his college application essays.

REVIEW

Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick is as off-beat as the title suggests. It’s like one of those “expect the unexpected” type of books. The chapters begin with college essay prompts that set the stage for what will happen in that chapter. Cool.

Perry is a pretty typical teen guy who plays guitar and is making plans for college. His father is pressuring him about becoming a lawyer, but I’m not so sure that is Perry’s dream. I like Perry.

Gobi is the foreign exchange student that Perry’s family is hosting. She dresses all in wool and doesn’t fit in at school. When Perry agrees to take Gobi to the prom, the truth comes out. Gobi is a trained assassin who is intent on completing her mission to kill her targets. She goes from shy and unassuming to beautiful and lethal.  No joke, Gobi is a like a teenaged female hit man!

This is some crazy and violent prom night. I think boys would really appreciate all the action in this rather short, but fast-paced book.

COVER COMMENTS

I love this cover. The lights make it look like everything is actually moving. I like that the cover is a night scene too.
