HOURGLASS FUN FACTS
Happy Friday! I am really excited to have Myra McEnitre visiting on a very hot summer day. Remember my gushy review about how much I love her debut, Hourglass? Well, now Myra shares some fun facts – Hourglass style. SHAZAM!
1. There are a couple of references to Fruity Pebbles in HOURGLASS, and the fact that the men in the story like them. So does my husband.
2. I played the Billie Holiday song "In My Solitude" over 100 times while writing HOURGLASS.
3. I rewrote the second half of the book at least seven times. BEFORE I subbed it to agents!
4. There are several changes from the ARC to the final copy. There's a phone call between Emerson and Dru that's in the ARC, but is replaced by a phone call between Em and Thomas.
5. The Novikov Principle is real.
6. Cameron College is named after the adult thriller/mystery writer Bill Cameron.
7. Bennett University is named after a couple I went to college with.
8. Ivy Springs is based on the real life town of Franklin, Tennessee.
9. I begged my editor to allow me to work in the word "shazam" right before the book went to print. She did.
10. Emerson is a runner and a black belt. I am too lazy to run to the mailbox and the closest I've ever come to martial arts are Kung Fu movies!!
