REVIEW
Soujon lives on Sky Mountain where everyone and everything is good. The Sky Mountain people focus on using their magical powers to help others. They can do things like read minds, teleport, and levitate.
Sky Mountain is a paradise. Not only are the inhabitants kind and generous, but the setting is gorgeous. There are rolling hills, blue skies, and fragrant flowers. I picture a relaxing and breathtaking land of make-believe. Maybe it's a little bit goody-goody, but that's pretty much how I am, so I liked it.
Soujon’s life changes when she meets Tourman. He is from an ugly place where people are mean, selfish, and scournful. It is the opposite of Sky Mountain. Soujon is fooled into liking Tourman and she grows to regret getting involved with him. I like that Soujon eventually finds a solution to her troubles.
I was surprised that the story takes Soujon and Tourman into adulthood, but I was happy that it remained a clean YA read.
